Bonding agent, renter exchange blows

A bail bonding company employee struck a woman to whom she is renting a home after the renter reportedly made a disparaging remark to her.

The incident took place in front of the Picayune Police Department on Wednesday as 58 year-old Charlene Arnold and 27 year-old Titanna Bonner were at the department attempting to get resolution on a dispute. Reports filed at the department state that Arnold was attempting to evict Bonner from the home at 616 Weems St. Bonner was renting the home from Arnold.

Police officers advised the two women that the matter was a civil dispute and would have to be handed in civil court, Deputy Chief David Ervin said.

As the two were leaving the station Bonner allegedly called Arnold a “bitch.” The report states Arnold turned around and asked Bonner who was she calling a “bitch” before striking Bonner in the chest with a closed fist. After Bonner returned Arnold’s blow, they were both arrested.

Both Arnold, of 108 Fox Run Rd., and Bonner were charged with disorderly conduct.

Police reports state that Arnold’s place of employment is Instant Bail Bonding, while Bonner listed her place of employment as the Picayune School District.
