The Lord is my shepherd…Psalm 23rd

On Thursday, November 26, 2009 the Lord called home one of His own, Bettie Rochel Greer, the daughter of the late Elmer and Deli Rochel; the wife of the late William Greer; the mother of Rose M. McKennis and Sharon Greer both of New Orleans, La.; the sister of Mrs. Leona Rochel of California, the late Betty Mae Walker, Crista Bell Linsley and Robert (Sonny) Rochel; the grandmother of Alfredo McKennis, Christopher Greer and Raven Greer all of New Orleans; the niece of Mollie Trust Jackson of Carriere and Lucille Bester of Poplarville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bettie was a native of Carriere. She was the Director of the Medical Explorer Post #771 for Charity Hospital in New Orleans for many years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Pure Light Baptist Church, 3944 Martin Luther King Blvd., New Orleans, La.

The Rev. André Sigler will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the Carriere Cemetery under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home of Picayune (601) 798-4469.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
