Several Miss. special elections to be held Tuesday

Adams County voters will cast ballots for a new sheriff on Tuesday, one of several special elections scheduled around the state.
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Adams County Sheriff Ronny Brown died in March. His wife, Angie, has served as interim sheriff but is not running in the special election. Eight candidates are on the ballot, but one has withdrawn. The winner will complete the term that runs until January 2012.
In Lowndes County, five candidates are running for justice court judge.
In Warren County, three candidates running for justice court judge.
Seven are running in Hancock County for the supervisor’s post held by Jay Cuevas, who died in May.
Runoffs, if necessary, will be held Nov. 24.
