Adams County voters will cast ballots for a new sheriff on Tuesday, one of several special elections scheduled around the state.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Adams County Sheriff Ronny Brown died in March. His wife, Angie, has served as interim sheriff but is not running in the special election. Eight candidates are on the ballot, but one has withdrawn. The winner will complete the term that runs until January 2012.
