Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 9 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for Nicholas “Poppa” B. Wagner, 78, of Picayune who passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009 in Picayune.

Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Father Michael Snyder and Father John Noone will officiate at the service.

A native of New Orleans, La., he was a retired Western Electric Teletype Repairman. Poppa Wagner worked in many areas at Picayune Memorial High School. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clifford S. Wagner Sr. and Josephine Asta Wagner; his sister, Elizabeth W. Ditta; and three triplet sisters.

Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Marian Thornton Wagner of Picayune; son, Mark Joseph (Annette) Wagner of Deltona, Fla.; daughter, Ann Marie (Koa) Wagner of Kaneohe, Hawaii; son, Bruce Jude (Deanna) Wagner of Carriere; daughter, Rosalie Marie (Darryle) Wagner Meredith of Meraux, La.; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Justin, Joey, Nicole, Jennifer, Vincent, Ashley and Stephen; two great-grandchildren: Brianna and Rocco; sister, Joyce W. (Eddie) Fabre of Kenner, La.; sister, Josie W. (Craig) Gianelloni of Metairie, La.; sister, Eileen W. (Charlie) Gianelloni of Metairie; and brother, Clifford S. (Kathleen) Wagner, Jr. of Poplarville.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 5 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
