Most places closed for Thanksgiving

Local businesses and government offices announced closing for the Thanksgiving Holidays.

A county spokesperson in Poplarville said that all county offices will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday.

In Picayune, a Picayune spokesperson said offices there will also be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday.

All three schools in the county, including Pearl River Community College, have been closed all week for the Thanksgiving holidays.

Bank Plus, The First National Bank and Hancock Bank will all be closed Thanksgiving day and will reopen for regular hours on Friday.

Wal-Mart officials said the store will be open 24 hours a day each day through the Thanksgiving holidays. However, the Wal-Mart pharmacy inside the store will close on Thanksgiving day.

In Poplarville, a spokesperson said all city offices will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday and will reopen on Monday at 8 a.m.

Offices of the Picayune Item and The Poplarville Democrat are closed on Thanksgiving Day only.
