Crabtree wins PRC spot

Challenger Twila Crabtree garnered 127 votes to incumbent Pearl River County school board member Margie Creel’s 114 votes to unseat the one-term board member in the race for the District 5 seat in Tuesday’s election.
Less than one percent of the registered voters in the District 5 race voted. There are 2,035 registered voters in school district 5. A total of 241 cast ballots. The turnout was very low.
In the race for a seat on the Lumberton line district in northern Pearl River County, challenger Kevin Dufrene beat incumbent Craig Ledet 32 to 23.
