The annual Pearl River County basketball Tournament kicks off today with a new look.

Although Picayune, Pearl River Central and Hancock will be participating, Poplarville won’t be due to academic conflicts. Taking Poplarville’s place will be Slidell’s girls and Coast Christian Academy’s boys.

Play today features the Picayune and Slidell girls meeting at 4, followed by the PRC and CCA boys at 5:15, the Hancock and PRC girls at 6:30 and the Picayune and Hancock boys at 7:45.

The finals and consolation games will be played Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m.
