A company expects to complete by mid-December its acquisition of Greenwood’s PYCO oil mill.

Scott Middleton, president of Delta Oil Mill of Jonestown, Miss., says the company also will acquire PYCO’s storage facilities in Minter City, Miss., and West Helena, Ark. Terms of the purchase were not announced.

Middleton says upgrades would take 60 to 90 days to complete.

Middleton says the plant will produce two soybean-related products — meal and oil. The oil will be sent out of state for further refining. The meal will be used primarily as feed by the catfish and poultry industries.

PYCO’s Greenwood operation has been closed, save for a handful of employees, since March. The mill processed cotton seed oil.

Middleton says Delta Oil Mill’s Greenwood operation will employ 30 workers.
