On Tuesday, November 17, 2009, Carl departed this life in San Diego, Calif. He expired at the age of 66 and was a native of Picayune.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Greater Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Picayune. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Leslie Blakely will officiate the services. Interment will be in Picayune Cemetery, under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.

Carl was preceded in death by: his father, Ray White and his mother, Essie L. Woodard White; his grandparents, Alex and Sarah Woodard; four brothers, Clarence Maxwell, Asa Maxwell, Hue Maxwell and Robert White; and two sisters, Roberta Jackson and Auline Trotter. He was also preceded in death by two children.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted daughter, Stephanie (Terry) Hinds of San Diego; four sisters, Betty Lewis, Nettie McWilliams, Deloris (Willie) Ellis, and Vera (Lee) McWilliams of Picayune; two brothers, Donald (Virginia) White and Charles White of New Orleans, La.; four grandchildren: Joel (Krizzanne), Chartae (Kevin), Courtney and Shalamar; two special grandchildren: Amber and Ernest; three great-grandchildren: Jania, Roscell and Braylon, all of San Diego; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Brown’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
