Betty Jean Wirkkula Campbell

Betty Jean Wirkkula Campbell went home to be with God on August 25, 2009. She was born in Hibbing, Minn. on November 19, 1923. She spent the last 54 years living in and around the Picayune area.

There will be a memorial service on November 7, 2009 at Union Baptist Church at 2 p.m. All who knew her are invited to join us as we remember her life.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Anna Wirkkula; a brother, Norman Wirkkula; a sister, Lillian Marine; and the father of her children, Henry Campbell.

She is survived by: six children, Gary (Debbie) Campbell of Mississippi, James “Bud” (Lynn) Campbell of Florida, Gaines “Rab” Campbell of Mississippi, David Campbell of Texas, Sharan (Mike) McGehee of Mississippi, and William “Billy” (Beth) Campbell of Louisiana.

She had three brothers, William Wirkkula and Raymond (Shirley) Wirkkula both of Hibbing, and George (Kathleen) Wirkkula of Kansas. She has a sister, Anna May (Karl) Summers of Hibbing.

She has ten grandchildren: Jennie, Christy, Eddie, Jason, Angie, Joetta, Kacey, Joamalee, Brands and Daphne and eight great-grandchildren. She had many children and grandchildren adopted not by law but by love. She also has a host of nieces and nephews.

She was loved very much and will be sadly missed by all.
