UPDATE — State inmate escapes from county jail

A state inmate is reported to have escaped from the Pearl River County jail on Sunday.
Inmate Waylon Lee Strickland, 31, reportedly escaped from the jail, located in Millard, at about 4:30 p.m. A press release from the Mississippi Department of Corrections states that Strickland is about 5 feet 11 inches in height, weighs about 220 pounds and has green eyes and blonde hair. He has tattoos on his arms and back. One of the tattoos on his back is a map of Mississippi, the release states.
Strickland was last seen wearing an MDOC green and white striped pants and a Pearl River County pullover shirt, white in color. The release states that he may have a blue MDOC jacket in his possession.
Strickland is serving a three year sentence from Greene County for possession of precursors and possession of a controlled substance, the release states.
