Two accidents kill three

Two separate accidents in different locations killed three Pearl River County residents.

The first accident occured early Wednesday morning before 5 a.m. The accident involved 42, year-old Scott Brown. He was traveling on Rock Ranch Road when,, for an unknown reason, failed to negotiate the curve. Brown, of Burgetown Rd., left the roadway and struck a telephone pole, said Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier. He died at the scene

The second accident occurred on Miss. 43 S. at about 4 p.m. The vehicles involved were a Dodge Caravan and a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Johnny Poulos said the Caravan was south bound while the Monte Carlo was north bound. According to the accident investigation the Monte Carlo, driven by David Landry, 48, of Picayune, crossed the center line into the path of the Caravan, driven by Cleo Shedd, 69, also of Picayune.

Both Landry and Shedd died at the scene.

Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage said all accident victims died as a result of massive trauma.
