A federal judge says the reverse discrimination lawsuit by former Greenwood Leflore Hospital attorney George Dulin should be held in Aberdeen.
U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock dismissed requests by Greenwood Leflore to move the trial because motions asking for the change of venue were filed after a June deadline.
Dulin, who is white, alleges he was pushed out of his job as the hospital board’s attorney in 2006 because of his race. He filed the lawsuit in November 2007 that claims the hospital board violated the Civil Rights Act and equal protection clause of the 14th amendment.
He is seeking an unspecified amount of damages.
The Greenwood Commonwealth reports the trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 19 in Aberdeen.
