PRCC ends with win

Pearl River Community College found a way to end a disappointing season on a positive note.
The Wildcats were once unbeaten and ranked third in the nation, but dropped three consecutive games and fell out of contention for the playoffs.
Head coach Tim Hatten’s crew, however, bounced back to win its final two games including an exciting 30-27 win over homestanding East Central here Thursday.
Travis Bradley’s fourth field goal of the game, a 32-yarder in overtime, provided the winning points.
“We finished with a winnng record and with two straight wins, so that was good,” Hatten, whose team finished 6-3 overall and 3-3 in South Division action, said.
The teams were tied at 7-7 at halftime, thanks to Picayune’s Reggie Bailey who returned a fumble 92 yards for touchdown for the Wildcats. Bradley connected from 32, 22 and 27 yards in the second half, while Emil Jones and Desmond Ratliff hooked up on a pair of scoring strikes as well from 15 and 33-yards out.
Ratliff finished the game with eight catches for 93 yards and the two scores, while Jones completed 14-of-30 passes for 184 yards through the air. Picayune’s Albert Richards ran nine times for 51 yards.
