A man wanted for murder in New Orleans has been arrested in Natchez.

Police Sgt. Craig Godbold tells The Natchez Democrat that 21-year-old Brian Fields was arrested without incident Wednesday by police and the U.S. Marshal Service.

Godbold says Fields had been staying at a Natchez residence in recent months, and after he was seen recently, police were able to track him to that address.

Godbold says Fields was wanted in connection with the February death of 29-year-old Maher Ali Khalil.

Officers found Khalil lying in the street with a single gunshot wound to the head. He later died in a New Orleans hospital.
