Authorities say a Forrest County man wanted for questioning in his wife’s homicide has been found dead in Alabama.

The Hattiesburg American and WDAM-TV report that the body of 31-year-old Rosmond Lay was discovered Tuesday night at a rest area in Green County, Ala.

Authorities had been searching for Lay after the body of his wife, 27-year-old Andrea Lay, was discovered in the couple’s home in Rawls Springs on Monday. Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said she had been shot.

Benedict said Rosmond Lay died of a single gunshot wound to the head. He was found sitting in his wife’s missing Toyota Camry with the motor still running.
