Visitation services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in East Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church for Jessie Williams, Jr., 57.

The Rev. Brian Dees will officiate at the internment in the Picayune Cemetery assisted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard, under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Jessie Williams was born on April 1, 1952 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Sr. and Catherine Williams. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Eventide Convalescent Center in Topeka, Kan.

He attended George Washington Carver School in Picayune and finished at Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, La. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Denise Williams and to this union God blessed them with two children and three grandchildren. He joined the United States Air Force in November 1979 and later retired in November 2005. Early in life he attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Picayune and later in life he joined Ebenezer Baptist Church and was baptized on September 22, 2002 in Topeka.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, LaShanna Williams; one son, Jessie Williams III both of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Marilyn Thompson of Picayune and Venita (Thomas) Fondal of Topeka; two brothers, Paul (Clara) Williams of Weaver, Ala. and Julius (Deborah) Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren: Jessie Williams IV; Jessica Williams and Camwrin Harris all of Denver; two aunts, Quanita Whiteside of Skokie, Ill., and Betty Lucky of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Brown’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
