A Fayette man has decided to skip his initial court date and have charges related to a 2008 slaying presented to an Adams County grand jury.
Willie Duck has been charged with accessory after the fact to rape, accessory after the fact to murder and accessory after the fact to arson.
The Natchez Democrat reports Duck waived his preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the body of Terry Lynn Farmer was found on the floor of a bedroom by firefighters on Aug. 20. They say the fire appears to have been started in the bedroom to destroy the crime scene.
Authorities say an autopsy shows Farmer had been beaten, raped, shot and set on fire.
Prosecutors say Duck reportedly gave conflicting statements to investigators about what he knew.
