Buxton Thorne Williams, Jr., 62, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nev., where he was employed. He had suffered two major strokes. Visitation will Friday, October 9, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus, Miss., from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., followed afterward by graveside services at Friendship Cemetery.

Buxton was born March 13, 1947 in Columbus to the late Buxton Thorne Williams, Sr. and Virginia Fraser Williams, formerly of Columbus, now Durant.

He is survived by: his son, Thomas Paul Williams of Picayune; his mother ,Virginia Fraser Williams of Durant; and sisters, Ginger Williams Hite of Jackson, Miss. and Lillian Ann Williams of El Cerrito, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Buxton’s cousin, Berkley Hudson of Columbia, Mo., and longtime, dear friends: Jimmy Simmons of Columbus, Cliff Tyler of Marietta, Ga.; Leon Ellis of Columbus; Chuck Odom of Jackson and Arlo Smith of Columbus.
