Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant says Mississippi will join 14 other states in an initiative that aims to decrease the risk of heart disease.

The Lieutenant Governors’ Challenge is a 12-week reward-based program that allows users to log fitness and nutrition choices that could influence their chances of getting heart disease. Those who meet specific goals will receive medals.

The online, interactive program is paid for through the Lieutenant Governor’s Association.
