Alcorn State University officials say the school will soon offer education degrees at its campuses in Natchez and Vicksburg.

Ruth Nichols, an assistant to Alcorn’s president, said Alcorn professors will travel to the campuses to teach weekly courses as part of a program known as “Cohort.”

The program begins in 2010.

Nichols said one of the more interesting forms of degree that can be earned from the cohort program is a master of arts in teaching, which allows people to teach at Mississippi schools no matter what area their original degree focus was.
