Absentee voting available till Oct. 31.

Absentee voting is currently available for the election of a new school board member for the Pearl River County School District.

Circuit Court Clerk Vickie Harriel said absentee voting will be available to voters in the Salem, Caesar and Sycamore communities.

The election, to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, will decide who is the next Pearl River County School District board member for District 5.

Absentee balloting will be available to voters to the Picayune and Poplarville area residents at either location of the Circuit Clerk’s office. Weekday hours for the Picayune office will be from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Poplarville weekday office hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Weekend hours will be offered in the Poplarville office only. Those hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, Harriel said. After Oct. 31, the Circuit Clerks office will not be able to accept any more absentee ballots.
