2 arrested for Internet threats

A 21-year-old man and a Drew High School student have been arrested and charged with making threats against the life of the Drew High School principal.

Drew Police Chief Anthony Gibson tells The Bolivar Commercial that Sean Metcalf and a 17-year-old student, were both charged with conspiracy to commit murder and were both being held on a $10,000 bond.

Gibson said the threats were made against Sylvester Cannon, principal of Drew High School, on the social networking Web site, Facebook.Gibson said both suspects bonded out of the Sunflower County Jail Monday.

Metcalf turned himself in Monday after being questioned by police about the threats.

The 17-year-old was picked up by police at school. As a minor, his name was not released.
