Pine Grove Volunteer firefighter Craig West was brought to a family member’s home on Monday evening at about 5 p.m. followed by a procession of fire trucks from all around the county. Carriere firefighter Chris Banks said West was receiving medical care at Forrest General Hospital for a terminal illness. Monday a number of volunteer trucks followed him to the home where he is expected to spend his remaining days. “It’s going to be a tremendous loss to the fire service,” Banks said.
