Lillie Mae (Chaney) Rider, 86, of Pontotoc, Miss., passed away Friday, September 25, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss.

She was born in Walker County, Ala. on May 22, 1923 and raised in Arkadelphia, Ala. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry Chaney; Robert and Lela Watson; her husband, James Daniel Rider; three brothers, Johnny (Gertrude) Chaney, Bob (Joyce) Watson, and James Watson, and two sisters, Dorothy (Bibb) Chaney Chandler and Ann (Howard) Chaney Dean.

She is survived by: a brother, Doug (Mona) Watson of Arkadelphia; a daughter, Janice (Dan) Rider Young of Pontotoc; a son, James Euley (Joanie) Rider of Lumberton, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Joyce (James) Jacobs of Arkadelphia; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Hanceville Funeral Home, 100 Michelle St. NW Hanceville, AL 35077, where the family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 5:30 -9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. (lie in state one hour prior) at Valley View Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Young officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
