Grand jury indicts man for capital murder

A Lafayette County grand jury has indicted Caleb Carrothers for capital murder in the July slayings of a father and son.

Carrothers is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 5 in circuit court.

The Oxford Eagle reports Carrothers was indicted on two counts of capital murder in the shooting deaths of Frank Clark II and his son, Taylor, and one count of aggravated assault for allegedly shooting and wounding Frank Clark’s wife, Tonya.

Authorities say the bodies of Clark and his son were found July 11 in their rural Lafayette County home. Authorities have not released a motive for the shootings.

Carrothers is being held at the county jail without bond.
