7th swine flu death in Mississippi

The Mississippi Department of Health has reported another swine flu death in Jones County.

That brings the total number of deaths caused by H1N1 influenza to seven in the state. It’s the second death in Jones County.

The number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Mississippi has risen to 898, but that’s only a fraction of the suspected cases that have been reported.

Symptoms of swine flu in humans are similar to those of seasonal flu, with fever, respiratory symptoms and body aches. According to the Health Department, many of the swine flu deaths nationwide were among people with pre-existing health conditions.
