Four Petal High School students and one woman have been arrested and charged with vandalism in the Sunrise community.
Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee said Tuesday that deputies arrested four juveniles and the mother of one of the juveniles.
McGee said 34-year-old Rebecca Brown of Petal has been charged with felony malicious mischief. He said the four juveniles, whose ages range between 14 and 16, also are charged with malicious mischief.
McGee said warrants have been issued for three other teenagers.
The arrests came after residents in the Sunrise community reported a racial slur being spray painted on their property.
