The city of Pascagoula and the state wildlife agency are restocking two local lakes with fish.
It will take two years for the fish populations to become established.
The city and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks agreed to the fish management program at Whitehead Lake at I.G. Levy Memorial Park and Chateau Lake on Old Mobile Highway.
The state will enforce fishing laws, rules and regulations at the site, make repairs to boat ramps and piers and perform periodic fish surveys.
Officials say largemouth bass and bream will be stocked next year, and channel catfish will be restocked each year.
Whitehead Lake, is a 13-acre lake and Chateau Lake is 4-1/2 acres.
