U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker has met with President Obama’s pick for the U.S. Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor.

Wicker, R-Miss., described Tuesday’s meeting with the judge as “cordial.”

He says they discussed her judicial philosophy and her record on topics such as the Second Amendment and abortion. “I remain deeply concerned by her appointment but will reserve a final judgment until after the Senate has a full, fair and vigorous debate on her nomination,” he said.
