An autopsy reveals there was no evidence that physical trauma caused a 17-year-old to drown in a city pool.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said it does not appear Rubin Ledbetter was injured nor was there a medical condition that caused him to drown on Friday at the Russell C. Davis pool.
The exact cause of the drowning has not been determined, but Jackson police spokesman Lt. Jeffery Scott said Ledbetter’s death is being ruled an accident.
Lifeguards on duty administered CPR after Ledbetter reportedly was found at the bottom of the pool.
Ledbetter was pronounced dead at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
