Obadiah’s journey with the Cross

He survives by the goodness of people and depends completely on God for his provisions. At age 60, he travels from city to city with the cross. He is committed to carrying the Cross and ministering to every city during his lifetime. Believers accommodate him for the night, and others provide for his lodging or meals.

Obadiah Franklin truly lives by faith. He understands how short life is and he is dedicated to sharing the Love of Jesus. When asked why he keeps his hat pulled down low, he says “Because all of this is about Jesus Christ and not me. I’m just a messenger.”

A man on a mission, Franklin stood in front of Walgreens on Mississippi Highway 43 South in a red hat, red shirt, red pants and red shoes, holding a Cross stained crimson red, which he said represents the blood that Jesus Christ shed for the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind.

“What can wash away our sins nothing but, the Blood of Jesus. Most people want to know what I am doing? Eighty percent of people we see driving up and down the streets of this nation do not attend any church regularly anywhere,” Franklin said. “The Bible says, ‘Go into all nations’ teaching and preaching the gospel, and that is what I am doing.”

“Why am I here,” Franklin said, then quoted from the word of God, “the Harvest truly is plenteous.”
