A memorial ceremony has been scheduled for Saturday for Stephen Bond, a missing Ocean Springs police officer.

The service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs.

The 32-year-old Bond has been missing since May 17, when the 21-foot boat he was aboard overturned in the Mississippi Sound about a mile from Horn Island.

Three others were rescued.

The Coast Guard called off its search after several days, and Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd and his officers searched for Bond for more than three weeks.
