A Marion County woman died Saturday after she being ejected from her vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Highway 49 and Mississippi Highway 42.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name, but Sgt. Perry Snyder, a spokesman for the Mississippi Highway Patrol, says it appears alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Snyder says the woman was traveling east on Mississippi Highway 42 around 2 a.m. Saturday when she lost control of her pickup truck and crossed two lanes of traffic. Her vehicle flipped six feet in the air and crashed into a tree.

Snyder said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
