A 46-year-old Jones County man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his wife.

Quincy Clayton is charged in the slaying of 46-year-old Alice Wash Clayton.

Deputies responded to a shooting shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Sheriff Alex Hodge said investigators found Alice Clayton with a gunshot wound to the chest. Hodge said the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Quincy Clayton is being held in the Jones County Adult Detention Center.

Hodge said Clayton could face additional charges.
