Officials say a Lake Cormorant man died at Lost Lake in Eudora.

DeSoto County Coroner Jeff Pounders said Monday that 18-year-old Cody Sykes was swimming in Lost Lake along with two friends.

Pounders said Sykes started swimming across the lake Sunday when he apparently had a cramp, and began to have trouble swimming. He said Sykes struggled for a few seconds and went under.

Pounders said the cause of death has been determined to be a freshwater drowning.
