The state Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of Ronald Husband for the killing of two Wiggins police officers in 2005.
Husband was sentenced to two life terms without parole. He was convicted of two counts of capital murder in a 2008 trial that was moved to Lauderdale County because of pretrial news coverage.
Wiggins patrolmen Odell Fite and Brandon Breland died from gunshot wounds after they responded to a domestic violence call at a Stone County home.
Prosecutors claimed Husband, while resisting arrest, managed to grab one of the officer’s guns and used it to shoot and kill both men.
The Appeals Court on Tuesday rejected all of Husband’s claims on appeal.
