2 slaying cases set for trial

Defendants in two separate Lamar County murder cases will stand trial during the March 2010 term of circuit court.

The cases were set for trial Thursday.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Natasha Graham of Lumberton has been charged with capital murder in the death of Tabitha Hartfield of Lumberton. Authorities say the body of the 23-year-old Hartfield was found May 31, 2008, in a shallow grave in the woods off a county road,

In the second case, 28-year-old Jennifer D. Wardle of Brooklyn has been charged with murder in the shooting death of James Neal May.

May, a 22-year-old University of Southern Mississippi student, was found shot to death on May 1, 2002. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation arrested Wardle on Nov. 6, 2007.
