The 74th annual Delta Council meeting will feature an address by U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, an Arkansas Democrat.
The annual meeting of the Delta’s regional business and agriculture organization will be June 12 at Delta State University’s Bologna Performing Arts Center in Cleveland.
Delta Council President John Phillips of Holly Bluff said Lincoln has been an advocate of the fundamental issues facing the Delta such as rural economic development, sound agricultural policy, foreign trade policy, workforce training, and health care.
Lincoln was first elected to U.S. Senate at the age of 38 in 1998, and re-elected in 2004.
