Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Cpl. Johnny Poulos said the 15 year old juvenile was not seriously injured and after being transported to Highland Community Hospital was released in about 30 minutes. The accident occurred at about 7:45 that morning.

The driver of the vehicle, Michael Medine Jr., was not injured in the accident, Poulos said. The area the juvenile was attempting to cross the street was not a school cross walk.

“He just rant across lanes of traffic trying to get to the school,” Poulos said.

No charges have been pressed.
