A portrait of George E. Ohr will be unveiled at the Old Capitol Museum in Jackson on June 7 as a new member of the Mississippi Hall of Fame on June 7.

Ohr, internationally known for his ground breaking work in ceramics, was named to the Hall of Fame at the end of 2008 by trustees of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. Inductees are selected every five years.

Katherine Buchanan of Brandon painted the portrait for the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi.
