Four members of an Ocean Springs family have been charged with abusing an 18-month-old child.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd says deputies were alerted after the child received medical attention. He says the abuse allegedly occurred on April 30.
Byrd says 20-year-old James Hill Jr. is charged with sexual battery. Three others — 38-year-old James Hill Sr., 36-year-old Pamela Hill and the child’s mother, 18-year-old Tasha Hill — are each charged with felony child abuse.
Byrd says all four were being held Thursday in the county jail pending an initial court appearance.
