The nation’s largest bridge card playing organization is moving its headquarters from Memphis to north Mississippi.
The American Contract Bridge League, which has more than 160,000 members, says it is making a $3 million investment in the move to Horn Lake located just across the border from Memphis.
The nonprofit group has an annual budget of $18 million with 170 traveling tournament directors. It supports 3,200 bridge clubs worldwide and 1,100 bridge tournaments annually.
Gov. Haley Barbour touted the move as an example that Mississippi and DeSoto County are attractive sites for corporate headquarters.
ACBL’s new headquarters will be located in a proposed 29,000 square-feet facility at DeSoto Commons on Interstate Blvd.
