Monroe County will lose one of its two General Motors’ dealerships as the struggling automaker and its dealers struggle with the weak economy.
Jimmy Clark, co-owner of Larry Clark Chevrolet Pontiac Buick in Aberdeen, said his dealership will consolidate by June 1 with Larry Clark Chevrolet Cadillac GMC in Amory.
Larry and Jimmy Clark are brothers.
GM has said it will eliminate about 42 percent of its dealerships nationwide and get rid of the Pontiac brand.
Aberdeen Mayor Jim Ballard said the loss will hurt the city’s budget next year.
Monroe County is in northeast Mississippi.
