A George County man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a 2007 slaying.
Jeremy Pitts was convicted of murder Thursday in George County Circuit court in the slaying of 21-year-old Matthew Rogers of Rocky Creek.
Rogers was found dead in an upstairs bedroom at a home on April 2, 2007.
Prosecutors say the slaying was gang related. Defense attorneys claimed Rogers had threatened Pitts.
