Faurecia lays off 150 associates

The economic downturn in Detroit has hit Cleveland, as Faurecia announced it has begun laying off employees.

Stacie Tong, manager of communications for Faurecia North America, says Chrysler is a key customer for the Faurecia Cleveland plant.

Following Chrysler’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing last week, Tong said Faurecia laid off approximately 150 associates in Cleveland in order to respond to changes in customer’s production schedule.

The Faurecia Cleveland plant began production in 2005, manufacturing seat frames for a variety of vehicles.

The company supplies products to all the world’s leading automakers.
