Mrs. Elaine Marie Penton Farmer, 67, Gadsden, Ala., passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Piedmont, Ala., with burial following at Carmel Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Thomas Dawson “TD” and Lily Head Penton, Sr. of Kenner, La.; and brothers, Thomas “Tom” Dawson Penton, Jr. of Franklinton, La., and Charles Robert “Bobby” Penton, Sr. of Hammond, La.

She is survived by: her husband, Walter A. “Joe” Farmer, Sr.; son, Walter “Arnold” Farmer Jr.; daughter, Telia Marie Farmer Hill; brother, Gil Stephen Penton; grandsons, Brandon Christopher (Laura Colvin) Hill and Michael Andrew Hill; and great-grandson, Peyton D. Hill all of Gadsden.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services.
