Gulf Coast and state transportation officials will formally designate the Bay St. Louis Bridge on U.S. Highway 90 in Hancock County as the “Leo W. Seal Jr. Memorial Bridge.”

The dedication will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the South Service Road in Bay St. Louis. U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Miss., will be keynote speaker.

The Mississippi Legislature approved the designation this year. The bridge, which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, spans the Gulf of Mexico and St. Louis Bay between Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian.
