The two exits between the Nicholson exit on Interstate 59 in Mississippi and the 1090 exit on I-59 in Louisiana will be closed until flood water from the Pearl River recedes.

Pearl River Police Department Chief Bennie Raynor said the exits are closed due to high water covering the turn around exits, exits 5A and 5B. He said he has officers of his department monitoring the roads and once the water recedes those exits will be reopened.

Raynor said rumors about I-59 between Nicholson and Pearl River being closed are not true.
