The University of Southern Mississippi says Brett Kemker, who recently headed the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, has been selected as assistant provost at the Hattiesburg school.
Kemker also had been associate dean for academic and student affairs with the College of Health.
Kemper says he sees his primary role in the provost’s office as facilitating university support for USM’s students and their successful graduation.
Kemker’s responsibilities as associate dean include student advising coordination, student appeals, review and approval of curricula exceptions, student practice development, oversight of programs assessments and coordination of the relationship with Gulf Coast student affairs issues.
